Our elderly residents are the heart of Zografou, but for many, simple daily tasks like buying groceries or picking up medicine from the pharmacy can become a significant challenge. The Weekly Errands for Senior Citizens program was created to bridge this gap by connecting active young volunteers with local seniors who need a helping hand.
Every week, our volunteers assist seniors with:
- Shopping for fresh groceries and household essentials.
- Collecting prescriptions from local pharmacies.
- Providing friendly companionship and continuous social contact.
This program is more than just practical assistance — it fosters meaningful intergenerational connections, reduces social isolation among the elderly, and strengthens our local community ties.
How to join?
If you live in or near Zografou and want to dedicate 2–3 hours a week to helping a senior neighbor, sign up through our volunteer form today!
